Also known as Cervicalgia this is a diagnosis used by doctors. To make it sound special, but in all honesty neck pain can be caused by many triggers, such as a previous accident (whiplash), concussions (TBIs), stress, increased tension along the 7 cervical vertebrae you have in your neck. The body stores all the trauma and micro traumas and adjusts in protecting itself. The body is very intelligent, and copes with pain in a respectful way. Cervicalagia leads to headaches, and migraines over time the body's pattern becomes more reinforced, and then causes pain. Something to think about is pain is the last thing to show up that something is wrong, and the first thing to leave under chiropractic care, however, needs to be treated so the body can adapt to a NEW pattern.

Aches and pains associated with the neck prevent healthy sleep posture and inhibit proper breathing.

Insomnia is the most common sleep problem, but it’s easily misunderstood. First, insomnia isn’t just about difficulty falling asleep. It's also characterized by waking up in the middle of the night and causing troubled sleep. Second, insomnia is not an isolated disorder, but rather a symptom. Chronic pain and insomnia are very close related And, addressing your back pain early has benefits beyond your spine. A 2013 study published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery (Hong Kong) found that nearly half of its study subjects had both chronic neck back pain and insomnia. As part of the research team’s conclusions, they recommended neck/back pain be treated early to avoid serious complications from insomnia.
